2018 Asian Champion killed during an anti-terrorist operation

Muslim Evloev, former Asian Champion was killed by Russian security forces during an anti-terrorist operation. According to a report by Interfax, Russian news daily, the security forces received information about the location of the terrorists. During the routine check, a shootout began and 25-year-old was seriously injured. “According to preliminary data, a 25-year-old Evloev was neutralized during the CTO in Ingushetia,” a source on condition of anonymity told the Russian media.

The incident took place on August 7 in Nazran (Ingushetia). According to some media reports, Evloev was not a suspect but it was he who sheltered the terrorists at home.

Who was Muslim Evloev?

Evloev was a Russian who competed under Kazakhstan’s flag. The freestyle wrestler has won two medals internationally including 2018 Asian Championships gold medal in 74kg weight category.
