The third day of the New Delhi bound Asian Wrestling Championships at the KD Jadhav wrestling hall will witness the start of women’s competition.

India’s medal hopeful Divya Kakran will start her campaign against formidable rivals. The 2019 Asian Championships bronze medallist will meet Albina Kairgeldinova of Kazakhstan in the opening round of 68kg category. Albina was the 2017 cadet Asian Championships finalist. The Indian will also meet 2018 Junior World silver medallist Dalgermaa Enkhsaikhan of Mongolia and Azoda Esbergenova of Uzbekistan in the second and third round.

Pinki has a good chance of bagging a medal this time as she does not open her bouts against strong opponents. She will face Shokhida Akhmedova in the first round and Kana Higashikawa of Japan in the second round

Sarita Mor will be facing challenges from Madina Bagbergenova of Kazakhstan in the first round and Nazira Marsbek of Kygrystan in the second round. Bagbergenova had won bronze in the U23 World Championships in 2019.

Two-time Pro Wrestling League gold medallist Nirmala Devi will be representing the hosts in this category. She will be meeting Mongolia’s Munkhnar Byambasuran at the quarter final round.

Commonwealth Championships gold medallist Kiran Bishnoi will have to prove her mettle in the tournament. She will start her campaign against Elmira Syzdykova of kazakhstand in the opening round followed by Thi Linh Dang of Vietnam and Aruinjangal Garbat of Mongolia in the subsequent rounds
