India’s Ravi Dhaiya has started on a great note in the Asian Wrestling Championships in Delhi as the Men’s competition started on Day 5. 23 year old Dhaiya won both his last 16 and quarterfinal bout in very convincing manner to make it to the semi-finals of the championships in the 57kg category.

After showing his brilliant moves and strength in the opening round against 2017 World & Asian Champion Yuki Takahashi of Japan, Dhaiya defeated little known Mongolian Tugs BATJARGAL in the quarterfinal bout. The Indian champ won the bout by pinning down his opponent as he was leading 6-3.
Bajrang eased past Sharifov in a convincing manner to seal the victory with a scoreline of 11-0. The Tajik wrestler could not even open his points tally.
With the win, Bajrang moves into the quarterfinals and will now face Abbos RAKHMONOV of Uzbekistan. The Uzbek wrestler has moved from 61 to 65kg, and was number five in the 2019 world championships in 61kg. He is also a 2018 Asian Junior Champion.
