Asian Wrestling Championships: Defending champion Sarita Mor will get a chance to retain her crown as she gets ready to defend her title in the 59kg category at the ongoing Asian Wrestling Championships in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The Indian wrestlers will be looking at the Asian meet as a platform to test themselves with the best in the continent ahead of Tokyo Olympics.
India’s Greco Roman wrestlers had a poor outing on Day 2. The results meant none of the Indian grapplers could clear the bronze medal play-offs stage.
Day 3 will witness 4 Indian women wrestlers in the fray- Seema Bisla (50kg), Sarita Mor (59kg), Nisha Dahiya (68kg), Pooja (76kg).
2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik will also be seen in action later in the tournament in the 65kg weight division, a non-Olympic weight category. It will be her first international tournament of the year.
