In a heart-stopping quarterfinal of 61kg category, Rahul Aware edged past Uzbekistan’s Jahongirmirza TUROBOV in a 20 points thriller. He defeated the Uzbek with a scoreline of 11-9 in a game that swung either way at all times.
Rahul will face either Kyrgyz Ulukbek ZHOLDOSHBEKOV in the last 4 of the 61kg freestyle category. The Kyrgyz is a former Under 23 World and Asian Champion.

Rahul Aware who is a 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and 2019 Asian and World bronze medallist will look to make it to his first Asian Championships final.
Indian wrestlers have made an impressive start to the sixth and final day of the Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi.
Rahul Aware set the tone for the things to come with a convincing 5-1 win Pakistan’s Muhammad Bilal. The win put Aware in the quarter-finals against Uzbekistan’s Jahongirmirza Turobov next. The Uzbek is 20-year-old Junior Asian Champion.
In the other qualification match, Jitender beat Thai wrestler Parinya CHAMNANJAN 10-0 to move into the last 8.
Falling behind 1-4, Satender made an impressive comeback to win the 125kg bout 5-4 against Uzbekistan’s Sukhrobjon Mukaramov.
However, in the 92kg category, India’s hope were ended as Someveer couldn’t stand more than 24 seconds in front of another Uzbek Ajiniyaz Saparniyazov and lost the bout by 0-10.
