On day 2 of the Sr. Asian Wrestling Championships Indian wrestlers bagged three bronze to make it a total of four in the two days of the Greco Roman competition. Along with the four bronze, India also won one Gold on day 1 of the championship.
In the final match for India on day 2 of Greco Roman, Hardeep beats the wrestler from Kyrgyzstan by 3-1. Seven times National champion from India cruised past Makhmudov in a tough fought battle.

Hardeep won his second Asian Championship medal, the first one being silver in 2016.
Aditya Kundu wins the second bronze of the day for India
Next up, it was the 2017 Commonwealth Championship gold medallist Aditya Kundu of India taking on Japanese Nao Kusaka of Japan in the Greco Roman 72kg category.
Kundu was impressive in his bout against the Japanese and won the second bronze of the day for India. He defeated the 2019 Japanese champion by 8-0.
Kundu thrashed the Japanese in less than two minutes.
Ashu wins bronze for India
India’s Ashu beats Syria’s Abdwlkarim Mohammad Alhasan in what was a commanding performance by the two-time Junior National Gold medallist. Ashu completed the win by a scoreline of 6-1.
It was the second of India’s four bronze medal matches in which Abdwlkarim Mohammad Alhasan of Syria went against India’s Ashu in the Greco Roman 67kg category.
This is Ashu’s first medal in the Sr. Asian Wrestling Championship.
Gyanender missed out on bronze
In the first of the four bronze medal matches, India’s Gyanender battled against Uzbekistan’s Islomjon Bakhramov in the Greco-Roman 60kg category. While Gyanender is a 2012 Junior National Gold medallist and last year’s Asian Championship’s bronze medallist, Bakhramov is last year’s Asian Gold medallist.
Gyanender was eager to end his tournament on a high but was beaten handsomely by Bakhramov 0-6.
It was a disappointing end for India in the 60kg category as no wrestler in this category was able to secure any medal.
