People in India have joined hands to help the poor workers amid the 21-day nation lockdown due to Coronavirus. Common men and celebrities alike have been seen distributing food and making donations for the noble cause. Recently, the 2014 Commonwealth Game gold medallist Babita Phogat shared a post on Instagram in which she is distributing food to poor people in her locality.

The Haryana grappler also made sure to take care of the hygiene while giving the food to the workers. She covered her face with the mask and had covered her hands with gloves. She captioned the video and said that she is just following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s request of helping the people in need during the dire situation.

Earlier, 2018 Asian Games Champion Bajrang Punia and 2012 London Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt had donated to Haryana’s Coronavirus Relief fund. While Punia donated six months of his salary, Dutt had contributed Rs one lakh.

Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President too joined hands in the fight against COVID-19. On Monday he announced that he will donate Rs one crore to PM-CARES Fund. The donation was made from the MPLAD fund.
