Bajrang, Sushil amongst others wrestlers support PM Modi’s ‘JantaCurfew’

Indian wrestlers have extended their support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Janta Curfew’ initiative to fight the Coronavirus pandemic. Two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, 2018 Asian Games Champion Bajrang Punia amongst others posted video on their respective social media handles urging people to follow the curfew.

What is ‘Janata Curfew’ and how will it play?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday laid emphasis on individual restraint via social distancing in his 30-minute press conference and urged the people to follow the ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday (March 22). During the 14 hour long curfew starting from 7 until 9 pm PM Modi has asked people to stay off the roads and public places.

While, public transport services such as metros and railways have also decided to follow the initiative, police, media, medical services will not come under the purview of the curfew.
