Olympic Champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev like many other athletes has stepped up to help the people battle against Coronavirus pandemic. The Russian grappler shared a video in which he can be seen going from door to door to help the authorities to distribute the essential items and food to the people. He posted a video on Instagram in which he visits a house with his face covered with a mask as a precaution. Their Sadulaev nicknamed “Russian Tank” is seen meeting a kid, he ties his wrestling shoes and gives him the packed food he brought. He has also urged others to help the people around them and everyone who is at risk.
“In these difficult days for our people, we must rally, look around and give a helping hand to everyone who is at risk. Be kinder, take care of others!” he wrote.
Many other wrestlers have also stepped up to help the government fight the crisis. Earlier, Indian wrestler, Babita Phogat was seen distributing food to the poor workers in her society.
Many sportspersons have also donated to the cause. 2018 Asian Games Champion Bajrang Punia and 2012 London Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt had donated to Haryana’s Coronavirus Relief fund. While Punia donated six months of his salary, Dutt had contributed Rs one lakh.
Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President too joined hands in the fight against COVID-19. On Monday he announced that he will donate Rs one crore to PM-CARES Fund. The donation was made from the MPLAD fun
