The 2020 edition of Ivan Yarygin is proving to be death knell for the heavyweights of the tournament. On the Day 2 of the competitions World champion David Baev lost out his gold medal bout in the 70kg category and on Saturday evening Rio Olympic champion Soslan Ramonov lost his gold medal match. 2019 Junior world champion silver medallist Kurban Shiraev was considered to be easy fodder for Ramonov. Contrary to the expectations the Russian junior managed to upstage one of the best wrestlers of the world in a shocking result. Shiraev won the bout 4-2.
