The 2016 Olympic Champion at Rio, Soslan Ramanov has announced his comeback in the global wrestling arena in style. Ramonov has entered finals of the Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix by defeating country mate Dasha Sharastepanov 5-1. After winning the coveted gold at the Rio Olympics, Ramanov had completely fallen out with the Russian wrestling authorities, went through some bad injuries and was on the verge of quitting the sport. In the morning first Ramanov got better of 2019 world silver medallist in 61kg Magomedrasul Idrisov and then in last 3 defeated Dasha to make it to the finals of prestigious global event.

In the finals Ramonov will play against 2019 world junior silver medallist Kurban Shiraev of Russia. If 29 year old Ramonov can pull through this bout he will be in line to challenge World 2019 champion in 65kg Gadhzimurad Rashidov for place in the Russian Olympic team for Tokyo 2020.
