Who better than following Olympic champion Jordan Burroughs when it comes to getting fit and healthy. The US wrestler has been one of the most consistent wrestlers in the world en route to becoming a four-time world champion and 2012 London Games gold medallist. Burroughs attributes a portion of his success to his healthy lifestyle and nutritious diet plan.
In conversation with Men’s Health, the American superstar gave fans a peek into his day’s hard training cycle and diet plan. He stressed the importance of clean eating and said, “I want to make sure everything I put into my body is going to fuel my performance. What I put into my body is what I would get out. The better the fuel, the better the performance.”

Jordan Burrough’s diet plan:
Breakfast:
A smoothie with a handful of spinach, almond butter, almond milk, avocado, chia seeds, flaxseeds, turmeric, plant-based protein and ice.
Lunch:
A veggie omelette with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions + a fruit salad made with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.
Dinner:
A piece of Atlantic salmon with sautéed spinach, mushrooms and sweet potato.
Jordan Burrough’s training regimen:
Burrough’s wake up early in the morning at 6 am. He says,” I wake up before any member of the family. I eat two hours before my morning training. But the amount is only enough to give me energy and make feel hungry too.”
He normally prefers cross-fit training as it helps him in building agility, and strength at the same time.
The American wrestler has booked the Tokyo berth and is eyeing for another medal. If he manages to do so he will create history of becoming the first USA wrestler to win two Olympic medals.
