Haryana’s teen sensation Komal will be the star attraction at the Tata Motors Cadet National Wrestling Championships, scheduled to start in Patna from January 26.
The three-day Tata Motors Cadet National Wrestling Championships, from January 26 to 28, will bring to the fore the gen next of Indian wrestling (Kushti), which is already being considered as the next global power house in the international arena. Wrestling has emerged among Indian sports biggest medal hopes at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games from July 24 to August 9.
Teenagers like Anshu and Sonam, who have beaten big guns Pooja Dhanda and Sakshi Malik respectively to earn India berths, and youngster Ravinder have already asserted themselves as the future of Indian wrestling. The Patna Cadet Championships is being seen as the platform that will bring to the fore many new hopes for the future as Indian wrestling (Kushti) is on the path of rapid growth.
Asian and World Cadet gold medallist, Haryana girl Komal will be the star attraction in the women’s competition. Asian Cadet Championship gold medallists Aman and Vijay will be spearheading Haryana’s challenge in boys’ freestyle competition.
Over 800 cadet wrestlers, 500 boys and 300 girls, will be representing 28 States in ten weight categories of the freestyle, Greco Roman and women’s wrestling.
The top brass of Wrestling Federation of India will also be attending the event to scout the best talent for future.
