India’s first women Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik celebrated her third marriage anniversary. She married 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist Satyawart Kadian in 2017. The 27-year-old took to Instagram to share the cute moment with her fans. The power couple baked a cake for themselves due to lockdown in the wake of Coronavirus. Sakshi captioned the image, “Happy 3rd anniversary to my love @satyawart_kadian.. you a lucky & happy man to such wife #selfmadecake”.
Sakshi is the 2016 Rio Olympic bronze medallist. She has also silver and bronze medal at the 2014 and 2018 Commonwealth Games. The Haryana grappler is eyeing for the Olympic berth and believes that the postponement of the Tokyo Games has given her a lifeline. She won a silver medal at the Asian Championships. Her biggest competitor in the 62kg weight class is the 18-year-old Sonam Malik. They have met on two occasions and Sakshi has lost both times. But now she believes she has more time to prepare and will claim her spot in the India team.
Satyawart, on the other hand, is 2016 Commonwealth Championship gold medallist and 2019 Asian Championship bronze medallist. In the 2020 Asian Championship, he bagged gold and is India’s official entry for Olympic Qualifiers in 97kg.
