UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father Abdulmanap passed away at 57 on Friday after losing battle to Covid-19. Khabib’s father was his coach and was also a world-renowned mixed martial arts coach. Olympic champion Abdulrashid Sadulaev paid condolences and wrote on Instagram: “All of us from Allah and our return. The desert of Allah is full of rascals (Sic.)”.

World Champion Frank Chamzio also took to Instagram and said: “Respects to @khabib_nurmagomedov , the family, and the people of Makhachkala. I know the pain is inevitable but your pain is our pain. We are all family. Know that the wrestling community is with you. I pray that your Dad is with Allah and resting in peace”.
His biggest rival Conor McGregor also mourned the death of Abdulmanap. Despite the rivalry that the two shared, the former UFC Champion took to Twitter and wrote: “The loss of a father, a coach, and a dedicated supporter of the sport. Condolences and rest in peace Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov”.
