From North to South: Dangals in India face uncertain future as COVID-19 hits economy
Today we walk down memory lane to 2009 with five-times world champ Adeline Gray. The US wrestler shared a nostalgic post of her training with her friend at the Olympic training centre 11 years back. She says, “The fear of changes keeps so many of us from moving forward. We struggle to move forward as a society because of this fear. Just because it is different does not mean it is bad. I look at this picture of my old roommate @worldchanger_usa and myself and I see a lot of changes. I would guess this pic was taken in 2009 in the old gym. This gym is now in a different building and now Olympic style mats are on the floor. I am missing my team, my gym, my structure. I see myself jumping. I have had a few knee surgeries since this pic and I do not jump anymore. My body does a lot of amazing things and a few things you would be surprised a World Champion cannot do.
It seems clear that the changes have been good. Our training is going to look different and it may feel different but I am hopeful it can be better. Thanks Kels for showing me this pic and reminding me that things can be different and better”.
