Tata Motors 23rd Senior Women Wrestling National Championship Full Results: Haryana dominated the first day of the Tata Motors 23rd Senior Women National Wrestling Championship by winning eight medals in five weight categories which were 50kg, 55kg, 57kg, 62kg, and 72kg. The highlight of the day was Sakshi Malik versus Sonam final in the 62kg division. The latter defeated the Olympic medallist 7-5 to claim stake in the featherweight category.
In 50kg, India’s long-time No.1 wrestler Nirmala Devi was absent, making way for young wrestlers. Minakshi of Haryana clinched gold. Meanwhile, Anshu continued her dominance in the 57kg, defeating Lalita 3-0.
In 55kg, which is a non-Olympic weight category, missed a lot of Olympic hopefuls including Asian Championship gold-medallist Pinki. Anju is the new champion in the weight category. In the heavyweight category (72kg), Pinki was crowned the champion as U23 Asian Champion, Naina settled for silver.
