The 2020 TATA MOTORS Cadet National Wrestling Championship is being organized at Patna in Bihar. On the day 1 of the competition the bouts in all 10 weight categories of Greco Roman Style were held and as expected wrestlers from Haryana and Delhi won the honors on the opening day. Over 800 cadet wrestlers, 500 boys and 300 girls, are in action representing 28 States in ten weight categories each of the freestyle, Greco Roman and women’s wrestling.
Delhi won maximum number of 4 gold medals on the opening day courtesy Chetan (55kg), Karan (71kg), Vijendar (80kg), Rahul (110kg). But this wasn’t enough to stop Haryana from winning the Greco-Roman team championship title once again. Haryana was number 1 in the team rankings with 190 points and Delhi was number 2 with 181 points followed by Punjab at number 3.

The three-day Tata Motors Cadet National Wrestling Championships is bringing the gen next of Indian wrestling (Kushti) in forefront.Teenagers like Anshu and Sonam, who have beaten big guns Pooja Dhanda and Sakshi Malik respectively to earn India berths, and youngster Ravinder have already asserted themselves as the future of Indian wrestling. The Patna Cadet Championships is being seen as the platform that will bring to the fore many new hopes for the future as Indian wrestling (Kushti) is on the path of rapid growth. Asian and World Cadet gold medallist, Haryana girl Komal will be the star attraction in the women’s competition tomorrow. Asian Cadet Championship gold medallists Aman and Vijay will be spearheading Haryana’s challenge in boys’ freestyle competition on Day 3 of the competitions.
The top brass of Wrestling Federation of India is also attending the event to scout the best talent for future. The bouts in all 10 weight categories of Women Wrestling and 2 weight categories of Free Style will be held tomorrow.
