Experienced campaigners of Indian wrestling Sumit Malik (125kg) and Satyavrat Kadian in 97kg won the national titles one more time. Malik has been regular face of the Indian team and recently represented the country at the Nur-Sultan world wrestling championships. Malik proved to be too good for the rest of the competitiors and easily won the national title one more time.
In the final bout Malik from Services Sports Control Board defeated Abhijeet of Maharashtra 5-0 to win gold. Earlier Sumit df Satinder of Services 5-0 in the semifinals
In the 97kg Satyavrat Kadian (Railways) proved his mettle. In the absence of Mausam Khatri, Kadian proved difficult nut for rest of the opponents in the category. Kadian first defeated young Akash Antil of Delhi in the Semi-finals 6-2 and then got better of Kapil Chaudhary of U.P by 9-0.
