The Day 2 of the Tata Motors National Wrestling Championships will feature India’s biggest names in the women wrestling. The biggest attraction on the day 2 will be World championships bronze medallist Vinesh Phogat who apart from winning medal at the world wrestling championships in Nur-Sultan also secured quota place for Tokyo 2020. But instead of fighting in her regular weight category of 53kg, Vinesh has opted to wrestle in 55kg for Railways.
The other big attraction on Saturday would be Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik. Sakshi who is off late little out of form will throw her challenge in 62kg category. Other notable names that will be seen in action on day 2 of the national championships will be Asian Games bronze medallist Divya Kakran (68kg), UWW world ranking number 2 Seema Bisla (50kg), Sarita More (57kg), Asian Championship 2018 gold medallist Navjot Kaur in 65kg category.
On the basis of performance at the domestic tourney, WFI will select the team for the South Asian Games to be held in the first week of December in Kathmandu, Nepal.
