Despite of heroics of Ravinder in the 61kg weight category, India failed to enter in the top 10 of team rankings as Men’s freestyle competitions concluded in the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest. Ravinder won silver medal for India on the day3 of the competitions but that wasn’t enough to place India in the top 10 of the team rankings.
Russia finished at top of the team standings in the Men’s freestyle competitions with 145 points. Iran won two gold medals on the day 3 and that was enough to propel them to number 2 in the team ranking list. Azerbaijan with 111 points stood third.
For India other than Ravinder, Veer Dev Gulia was the only one to finish in the top 4 of their respective category. Gulia narrowly lost out on the bronze medal in the 79kg category.
