Most of the champion wrestlers like Japan’s two-time world and Olympic champion Risako KAWAI holds the world’s top-ranking at 59kg, but since winning her Budapest world title, she’s dropped down to the Olympic weight of 57kg.
But ironically India’s Pooja Dhanda, the 2018 world championship bronze medallist at 57kg has to do reverse. As Pooja lost out in the trials for 57Kg to compatriot Sarita Mor, WFI decided to field her in 59kg weight category.
