The biggest match-up of the world wrestling championship stayed true to its billing. 74kg Gold medal bout between current world number 1 Frank Chamizo of Italy & reigning world champion Zaurbek Sidakov of Russia had all the masala of Hollywood thriller. The see-saw battle between two champion athletes was a heart-stopper for fans in the arena.

Sidakov is the World Champion again

Though the glamour boy of Italy, Chamizo took the 1 point lead in the round 1, it was defending champion Sidakov who created the move of the bout and scored 2 to take the 2-1 lead. Chamizo was quick to respond and the lead agains exchanged hands as now Italian was leading 3-2. In this see-saw battle, final move was made by the Russian which sealed the deal for Sidakov and made him the world champion once again.

King Jordan wins consolation BRONZE

In the bronze medal play-off, despodent looking Jordan BURROUGHS of USA won his seventh world championship medal. Borrough who lost out the semi-finals easily defeated Mao Okui from Japan by technical superiority. But the disappointment of failing in his pursuit of 5th World Championship gold was clearly visible on Burrough’s face.
