The 28 year old Adeline Gray, without any doubt today is the most accomplished, respected and the most decorated wrestler globally. Born in Denver, Colorado this humble wrestler from USA has 5 world titles already in her kitty. In 2012 Gray won her first world title and continues to dominate the wrestling world till date as she recently won her 5th world title in Nur-Sultan in September.

But despite this domination, medal at the Summer Olympics is still eluding her. Gray competed in the 75kg event at the Rio 2016 olympics. and lost her quarterfinal match against Vailisa Marzaliuk of Belarus but this time at Tokyo 2020 she is targeting nothing less than gold.

“When I was a freshman in high school, I had no idea there was going to be this much explosion in women’s wrestling. At the time, we just had world championships, no Olympics,” Gray said in a television interview in USA.

But now Olympic is what she dreams about and wants to win Gold at Tokyo 2020 for herself and for USA. She started wrestling when she was 6 years old. As the tallest of four sisters, her mother wanted her to play basketball but wrestling is what she decided to pursue. Gray is inspiring a whole new generation of girls and that is motivating her to continue to push for gold at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
