The World Military games have began in Wuhan, China. The wrestling (Kushti) events were the highlight of the day where many world class wrestlers are participating. On the day 1 of the wrestling competition, the categories of 57, 65, 74 & 86kg were in action. Once again like any other global wrestling (Kushti) event, Russia reigned supreme on the day 1 of the World Military Games. Russia wrestlers contested 3 weight categories out of 4 on Monday and won all 3 gold medals. The winners were recently crowned world champion in Nur-Sultan, Gadzhimurad Rashidov (up to 65 kg), Khetik Tsabolov (up to 74 kg) and Arthur Naifonov (up to 86 kg).
The most exciting contest of the day was seen in 74kg weight category between Tsabolov of Russia and European champion from Turkey Soner Demirtas of Turkey. Russia once again triumphed in end to win Gold medal of 74kg. Russia could not contest in 57kg as according to the rules of the World Military Games, no country can field wrestlers in more than 3 categories per style.
