In a shocking turn of events, it has been revealed that Rey Mysterio’s contract with WWE has reportedly ended. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, the Master of 619 is currently working without a contract. He had signed a contract back with WWE in September 2018, which has now come to an end. But the wrestler will reportedly continue working with the company until WWE Extreme Rules which are scheduled to be held on July 19. There has been no further news on whether he will renew his contract or not.
Ongoing Rivalry with Seth Rollins and his future
The current rivalry of Rey Mysterio and Co. with Seth Rollins’ faction has been brewing for over a month now. It all began when Seth Rollins injured Mysterio’s eye with a barbaric steel steps attack. Following this, Mysterio returned to WWE TV seeking vengeance. And he was not alone as Dominik shared the same desire.
As per the speculations which have also exclaimed that Mysterio’s son Dominick is also set for his ring debut and this is the primary reason why Mysterio has continued to work with the company despite his contract coming to an end.

Rey Mysterio and his Son Dominick both were supposed to be in the ring last week at RAW as they were scheduled to give answers to Rollins. But due to spike in Covid-19 both of them decided to stay back at home and sent the pre-video answer from their home to Rollins and his company.
The current plan seems it could be one on one rivalry between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules. The storyline also suggests that with the interruption of Rollins disciples this rivalry could turn into a six men tag team battle.
Next pay per view set up for Dominick
Rey Mysterio also wants to wrestle alongside his son Dominick before the retirement so that he can set the tone for him in future by beating Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules. According to per the rumour mill, SummerSlam seems like the perfect pay per view for Dominick to kick off his wrestling career. But it will be interesting to see how WWE use Dominick for their advance.
