Edge is one of the most iconic WWE superstars of all time. The Rated R Superstar in his 19-year career has given many jaw-dropping moments to the WWE Universe. And his return to WWE this year was one of them.
Known as the ‘opportunist’, Edge was quick to grab the first big chance that came knocking on his door. His match against Randy Orton at Backlash which was dubbed as the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” was a reminiscence of his old self.

5. Wrestlemania 22 Edge vs Mick Foley in a Hardcore match
If you have Mick Foley in a match, it is for sure that there will be blood spill all around. And the Edge vs Mick Foley at Wrestlemania 22 was no different. Mr Opportunist was abrasion and thumbtack-covered when the referee raised Edge’s hand to announce him as a winner. But how did he achieve it? Beating the “Hardcore Legend” is no joke especially in his playground.
However, Edge managed to do it and just like how Foley loved it. The Rated R Superstar speared Foley right through a flaming table. Although Edge did suffer second-degree burns — as no anti-flame material was applied to the table on both wrestlers’ request — the went down as one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches ever.
4. Wins his first Money in the Bank Ladder Match
It was the first Money in the Bank ladder match which took place in the year 2005, at Wrestlemania 21. The prize for whoever managed to climb the top of the ladder and grab the briefcase was a contract for a championship match. The winner had the power to cash it in at any point. The match had all the elements to be inducted into the WWE’s greatest matches. There was high-flying of Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin and Edge, the brutal force on display Chris Benoit and Kane and resilience at its best by Christian. In the end, it was Edge who managed to defy the forces and climb the ladder to grab the briefcase.
3. First WWE title opportunity at Elimination Chamber
It was the main event of 2006 Elimination Chamber PPV for the WWE Championship. The match involved champion John Cena, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Kane, Carlito, and Chris Masters. Cena won the match and retained the title after being the last man standing. After the victory as Cena was attempting to recover, Vince McMahon came out, announcing that Edge has cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Edge speared Cena twice to win the title. With this, he grabbed his first WWE title.
2. Surprise returned at Royal Rumble 2010
In WWE, the crowd’s reaction is referred to as a “pop.” In interviews, wrestlers often recollect on the pop that they get from the spectators at certain moments. The main event was the annual 30 men Royal Rumble match which featured wrestlers from all three brands( Raw, SmackDown and then WCW). Edge was the 29th entry. He won by eliminating John Cena.
1. Wrestlemania XVII: TLC match
One of the most entertaining matches in WrestleMania history was the tag team TLC match between Christian & Edge vs The Hardy Boyz vs The Dudley Boyz.
The three teams battled it out in this near one hour match. And probably the highlight was when Edge delivered a spear off the top of the ladder to Jeff Hardy, who was hanging from the belts. This is still considered amongst the top five spine-chilling moments of WWE history. Edge and Christian won the Tag Team title following which they won it six more times before disbanding their team.
