ABOUT US

This Association was established on 3rd February 1977 at Ahmedabad with an object to hold, encourage, control and regulate all Wrestling activities, competitions and to trained wrestlers in Gujarat State. For this purpose, we got affiliation with Gujarat State Olympic Association and Wrestling Federation of India and also recognized by Gujarat State Sports Department. Since the inception of this Association, we are regularly organizing our State Championships in all groups and have sent deserving wrestlers for participation in Nationals. Till date, we have many wrestlers who have won Medals at Nationals. And last year 2018-19 our wrestlers have medals in all Nationals except Senior Nationals. One Girl wrestler had participated in 2018 World Cadet Wrestling Championships. This year we have won 1 GOLD Medal in Cadet National, 1 SILVER and 5 BRONZE Medals. With support from the Sports Authority of Gujarat, we hope to improve our standard and get more and more medals.

President is taking an active interest and has ensured to all Wrestlers and officials to give Justice to all. In all competitions, fair decisions should be given to all. All Referees are also given chance to work and participate in Nationals to get experience. Our effort is to encourage and support deserving wrestlers to get more and more Medals. In 1995 we had conducted Junior National at Gandhinagar and then now in Feb.2019 again we organized Junior National for Boys and Girls at Surat, Gujarat. We wish to organize more Nationals in Gujarat at different places if we get proper facilities and support from all corners.
