A battery of World, Olympic and continental champions will be in action in the Greco Roman competition on the second day of the European Wrestling Championship today (Tuesday)
In 60 kg category, Chris Kecskemét has been pitted in the group of Italian bronze medallist Jacopo, and this year’s Russian champion Lokayev.
As for the 67 kg, Stephen Vancza, Junior World and European Championship bronze medallist will share his group with the likes of Azeri Dadov (Armenia) and European champion Georgian Sotadze.
The 72kg category is going to see the most intriguing action between the heavy weights with the likes of Olympic and World Champion Serbian Stefanek, three-time world champion Frank Staebler (Germany), and U23 World and European Champion Robert Fritsch taking to the mat.
The second most challenging category is 82kg. The group boasts the likes of World and European Championship bronze medallist, Laszlo Szabo, World and European Championship bronze medallist, Lasha Gobadze (Georgia), World and European Championship silver medallist and U23 world champion Burhan Akbudak.
The 97kg category is not far behind either. Alex Szoke (Hungary), cadet world and European champion, world cup silver medallist, Kiril Milenov (Bulgaria), world cup silver medallist, Aleksander Golovin (Russia) and the Olympic bronze medallist Cenk Ildem (Turkey).
