Covid-19 continues to wreak havoc in the world. In the latest development, more wrestlers from Ukraine wrestling team tested positive for the virus. Olympic medallist Zhan Beleniuk came back positive on Thursday.
Beleniuk broke the news about his covid-19 test on social media. The world champion wrote: “For the second day I have been on self-isolation, because I was suspected of coronavirus. And today everything was confirmed. But I have a fighting spirit. Passing the test, I was 99% sure that I got sick. I guess where I could get infected.
After his report, all of his sparring partners at the national camp were tested. Ukraine federation reported that all of them have also been infected by the virus. The number is, however, unknown.
Ukraine had resumed their national camp in May. Since then they conducted the men’s national camp twice including one at 1500mts above sea level.
