Indian wrestler and Olympic hopeful Bajrang Punia has donated his one month salary to help a farmer in Haryana. The wrestlers took to Instagram to make the announcement. He donated Rs 50,000 to farmer Hazari in Garanpura village, Haryana.
Bajrang said, “It is noteworthy that a fire broke out in the farm of Hazari, a resident of Garanpura village, around 10:30 am on the morning of 16 April. His wheat crop got burned in about nine acres of fire. Apart from this, a tractor was also burnt. During the extinguishing of the fire, the farmer Manjit, a neighbour of Hazari’s farm, was also burnt in the fire. I henceforth donate my monthly salary of Rs 50,000 to him”.

The wrestler also urged Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other people to help people like Hazari. “I am also from a farmer family and he is also a farmer. I can understand their pain. I neither run a trust nor am from politics. Just helping with what I have earned from the game. Earlier the condition of my family was also similar. The government should also look at this,” he added.
Earlier, the world medallist had also made a contribution to CM Fund to help people fight coronavirus. He had donated his six months for the cause.
