Colombian National Wrestling team head coach tested postive for covid-19

The head coach of the Colombian national wrestling team, David Gutierrez has been tested positive for covid-19. The news was broke on Colombia wrestling’s Instagram account. Gutierrez has been admitted to the hospital of Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. “It is with great concern that we report that the outstanding coach of the Colombian National Team of Wrestling, our friend and colleague, Coach David Gutierrez, is in feeble health, as he was unfortunately infected with the COVID-19 virus. He is currently being held with assisted (mechanical) ventilation in the intensive care unit of the hospital “Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, in the city of Medellín, Colombia.

“Respectfully, we ask the entire family of the Pan American and World Olympic Wrestling to unite in prayer to God, so that the medical treatment David is receiving allows him a speedy recovery. We will be reporting on its evolution,” the post reported.

Colombia covid-19 condition

The South American country has been one of the worst affected countries in the continent. It has recorded over 276,000 cases so far and the death toll has reached up to nearly 10,000.
