The entire world, especially Europe is grappling very hard with the menace of Covid19. In the middle of scare and gloom everywhere, the hosts of the European Olympic Qualifiers, the Hungarian Wrestling Federation decided to organize flashmob to promote the event. With the Olympic Qualifiers less than two weeks away, the flashmob was organized in Budapest to mark the countdown of the European Olympic Qualifiers. Around 200 young wrestlers participated in the event which was held in front of the Puskas Arena. The youngsters formed a ‘wrestling bridge’ as a symbol of the sport.

The flashmob event was attended by the Hungarian National team which included 2019 World Champion Tamas Lorincz, his brother and European and World Champ Viktor Lorincz, and 2013 World Champion Marianna Sastin. After the event was concluded the wrestlers gave autographs and took pictures with the kids. The participants were also given a flashmob custom T-shirt with the slogan: “Let’s get more!” which was a signal to the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Hungary is scheduled to host the European Olympic Qualifiers from March 19 to 22. The qualification tournament will be held at BOK Hall in Budapest. Already the Asian Olympic Qualifiers, Africa and Oceania Olympic Qualifiers have been postponed due to Coronavirus. Hungary also has reported 4 coronavirus cases till date but unlike in some of the other European nations, situation is in control. As some of the biggest names of global wrestling are scheduled to participate in the European Qualifiers, organizers are expecting that the Coronavirus menace stays curbed.
