Hungarian Wrestling Awards: World Champion Tamas Lorincz named best wrestler of 2019

The year 2019 was very productive for the Hungarian wrestling and to celebrate the achievements of the year, Hungarian Wrestling Federation organized awards night to felicitate their champions. The cadet, junior, U23 and senior athletes and their coaches, who achieved outstanding results in 2019, received a cash award.

The wrestlers from Hungary won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals at the world championship in Nur-Sutlan. The only senior world champion from the country in 2019 Tamás L?rincz was adjudged the best wrestler in 2019. World Championship bronze medalist Musukayev Ismail, Marianna Sastin (all three of whom won the Olympic quota in addition to World Championship-2 under Viktor L?rincz) were also awarded at the event. The coach of the year went to András Sike.

The legend of the Hungarian Wrestling were also awarded during the event 1979 champions, Lajos Rácz, István Tóth, Ferenc Kocsis, István Kovács, 75 years old former European champion József Csatári were also honored along with others.

The welcome speech was delivered by Péter Bacsa, Executive Vice President of MBSZ, mentioning his 2019 successes and calling attention to the main sports event of 2020, the Tokyo Olympics.
