India China border dispute today: 20 Indian soldiers including a colonel were killed on Monday evening in a clash with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh Galwan valley. This is the first time in 45 years since the 1962 war that India has suffered casualties in a face-off with China. India’s wrestlers have expressed their disappointment over the incident on social media accounts. Some of the grapplers who have reacted are twin Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar, 2012 Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, Geeta Phogat amongst others.

For the last five weeks in the Galwan Valley region, a large number of Indian and Chinese troops were engaged in an eyeball-to-eyeball situation. The report of violent incident comes days after General MM Naaravane, Indian Army Chief had said that both the armies have begun disengaging from Ladakh’s Galwan Valley region.
