Individual World Cup 2020 Day 4: Pinki is the lone wrestler who has reached the medal round so far. The Indian wrestler will now face 2019 World bronze medallist Olga Khoroshavtseva in a bronze medal repechage match.
Pinki had a strong start to her World Cup campaign beating Tetyana Kit of Ukraine 3-1 in the quarterfinals. However, in the semi-final, Belarus’ Iryna Kurachkina rolled to a 6-1 win against the Indian.
Kurachkina used a takedown and gut wrench in the first period to go up 4-0. She added a takedown in the second period to win by five points.
Besides this, day 4 will also feature five remaining women weight categories – 57kg, 59kg, 65kg, 68kg and 76kg. India has sent its representatives in four weight classes. There is no entry in 68kg as Divya Kakran withdrew after testing positive for COVID-10.
