Jitender is currently India’s best wrestler in 74kg. His performance at the Asian Wrestling Championship in February gave the fans a new hope for an Olympic medal in the weight class which boasts the likes of Iran’s Hassan Yazdani, and the USA’s Jordan Burroughs. Not only overseas, even within Indian wrestling circuit 74kg is one of the most competitive weight division with Sushil Kumar, Narsingh Yadav and Praveen Rana in the fray. But despite all the odds, Jitender has managed to cement his position in the India team. However, his journey has not been a walk in the park.
