Neeraj was born in 30.01.2000 in Halalpur, Sonipat, Haryana. He started playing at the age of 12. Neeraj started wrestling because of Yogeshwar Dutt as he got inspired by him. Neeraj first Akhada was Chattrasal Stadium, Delhi. He used to live with Bajrang Punia and Yogeshwar Dutt all the time and in 2017 he shifted to SAI, Sonipat with them to practice. Neeraj father is a farmer and mother is a housewife. Bajrang Punia and Yogeshwar Dutt are his favourite players
