Wrestling has seen some big rivalries over the course of time but nothing is compared to what the US’ Kyle Snyder and Russia’s Abdulrashid Sadulaev has. Considered as the best pound-for-pound wrestlers of the current generation, the duo has proved their mettle at the highest level. Now, they are engaged in a race for wrestling dominance in the 97kg weight category. Both the wrestlers have won the Olympic medal. While Snyder won it in the 97kg, Sadulaev bagged the title in the 86kg weight category. The latter after winning the gold, decided to move up two classes, where he and Snyder clashed for the first time at the Paris World Championship in 2017. To everyone’s shocker, the US wrestler ended his Russian counter-parts four-year-long unbeaten run.
Sadulaev in an interview said that children in Russia used to ask him when will he take revenge on Snyder. And luckily the opportunity came knocking on his door. It was the same competition, same finale but a different location. The Russian pinned the US wrestler at the 2018 Budapest World Championship. Revenge Taken!
