After successfully hosting the season opener the UWW ranking series event this month, the city of Rome is ready to host European Wrestling Championships 2020 in the month of February. The European Championships will be played from 10th to 16th February in Rome with almost every top nation and wrestlers of Europe scheduled to participate in the event. Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, hosts Italy, Hungary, Germany including 27 nations have confirmed their participation in the event hosted by Rome after a gap of 26 years.

Champion Russia ready to dominate
The global powerhouse of wrestling is ready to once again dominate the European Championships. Russia won 21 medals in the last edition of the European Wrestling in Romania. It will be interesting to see the composition of the Russian team in Rome. Speculation is rife that Russia may come to Rome with top class team in the year of Tokyo Olympics. Turkey is another one to closely watch out for. The wrestlers from Turkey created history by winning 16 medals at the last European Championships and they will come to Rome with aim of repeating that success.
