Russia have completed an impressive journey in the European Wrestling Championships 2020 in Rome, with the men’s freestyle team completing a sweep of team titles. On the final day on Sunday, Russia romped home with five free style gold medals.
Earlier, the Russian grapplers have bagged the Greco-Roman and Women’s team titles.

Russia defended the freestyle team title with an aggregate of 186 points. Azerbaijan were far behind at the second spot with 116 points and Georgia were ended up a distant third with a mere 95 points.
Abdulrashid Saulaev continued his European Championships dominance, winning his fifth consecutive gold. He beat Olympic bronze medallist Albert Saritov of Romania 6-0 in the 97 kg freestyle final.
Azamat Tuskaev, Aleksandr Bogomoev, Kurban Shiraev and Artur Naifonov followed Abdulrashid with titles in their respective 57kg, 61kg, 65 kg and 86kg category events.

Elsewhere, in the 74 kg final two-time world champion Magomedrasul Gazimagomedev of Russia was restricted by world number 2 Frank Chamizo of Italy, who claimed his fourth European Championships title.
Magomed Ramazanov was denied gold by his Belarussian rival Mahamedkhabib Kadzimahamedau in the 79kg final.
