New dates for the Russian women’s wrestling championships in Kazan, and freestyle wrestling in Ulan-Ude will be determined later, taking into account the recommendations of the United Wrestling World (UWW) and the Ministry of Sports. The tournaments scheduled for April 23-26 in Ulan-Ude and May 8-11 in Kazan were postponed due to the decision of the Ministry of Sports to suspend all competitions in connection with the coronavirus pandemic until further notice.
“The main task in the current situation – protecting life and health means maximum self-isolation of residents. For wrestlers, like all athletes, this means a complete rejection of inertial attempts to continue training, including training on the street or in the park. In a pandemic, such activities are life-threatening and health. I also want to draw the attention of fighters and specialists that violating the self-isolation regime is unlawful. Keeping fit today is possible only within the apartment or at home, “said the Deputy President Atelier of the Supervisory Board of PBS George Bruce.

“The Russian freestyle and women’s wrestling championships have been postponed indefinitely. The Olympic Games have been postponed to 2021. The decision to resume competitions and adjust the UWW international calendar will be made only after receiving relevant recommendations from the IOC and WHO. Accordingly, the FSBR will decide on the Russian calendar taking into account the recommendations of UWW and the Ministry of Sports.
