Hungary’s U23 European medallist Bendeguz Toth died tragically suddenly. The 22-year-old wrestler got sick during outdoor training and was rushed to the Military Hospital, where they tried to save his life, reported Hungary Wrestling Federation (HWF). The cause of death, however, is yet to be confirmed.

Tóth won the cadet European Championship silver in 2014, the U23 silver silver in 2017, the university World Championship silver in both catches in 2014 as a great promise of Hungarian freestyle wrestling, and he was also included in the adult national team at this year’s European Championships.
“On behalf of the Hungarian wrestling family, we express our deepest condolences and sympathy to the parents, family members, sportsmates, masters and friends of our excellent young athlete,” the report added.
