Aware had a great run at the world championships and he defeated American, Tyler Lee Graff 11-4 to ensure he finished on the podium. Aware, a Commonwealth Games gold medallist, made a thunderous start to his challenge with an emphatic 13-2 victory over Turkmenistan’s Kerim Hojakov. Against Kazakhstan’s Rassul Kaliyev in the last-eight round, the Indian had to dig deep and relied on his finesse to secure a 10-7 victory. He, however, had lost his semifinal bout 6-10 to Beka Lomtadze of Georgia and thus reached the bronze medal match.
