The Indian Greco-Roman team is currently attending a national camp at Azerbaijan. Six Greco wrestlers in Olympic weight category – Gyanender (60kg), Ashu (67kg), Sajan (77kg), Sunil Kumar (87kg), Hardeep (97kg) and Naveen (130kg) – along with Indian head coach Hargobind are a part of the camp.
The wrestlers are going through an intensive workout. They have been scheduled for a three-times a day training session. In this, the morning session usually consists of endurance training while the afternoon and evening are for the mat training.
All the Indian athletes are practising their moves with different sparring partners. In a video shared by the Indian contingent, Indian wrestlers can be seen applying various Greco wrestling techniques.
“India lacks the good quality of Greco wrestlers. Training abroad especially in Azerbaijan is good as there are many good Greco wrestlers in the country. It helps us work on our shortcomings and improve in the process,” Naveen told WrestlingTV.
The Greco team is the only Indian team which is currently training abroad. Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had decided to cancel Freestyle camp of Russia and Women’s camp of Ukraine due to the spread of Coronavirus.

I think Gurpreet is in the Greco Roman squad instead of Sajan as evident from the training photo.
