The Wrestling Federation of India will facilitate overseas training stints for wrestlers picked for the Asian Olympic Qualifiers in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, next month.
The freestyle, Greco-Roman and Women grapplers will train in Russia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine respectively.
Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Ravi Dahiya, who have already earth the Tokyo 2020 ticket, will also train abroad for the upcoming Olympics.
The freestyle team consists of Ravi Kumar, Bajrang Punia, Jitender, Deepak Punia, Satywart Kadian and Sumit Malik.
The Women’s wrestling camp in Ukraine will be attended by Nirmala Devi and Kiran. Divya Kakran, meanwhile, will be training at home as she had denied to go to the Eastern European country for training. Vinesh will be training in Norway from March 1 to 16. There is still no confirmation about training schedule of Anshul and Sonam.
The Greco-Roman team members will attend a camp in Azerbaijan.
India will be participating in 14 weight categories across three disciplines at the Asian Olympic Qualifiers.
