The World Club Wrestling Cup will be held in Sanandaj, Iran. According to the Iran Wrestling Federation, many provinces had expressed the desire to host the tournament. After negotiations between the head of the league organization and the Governor of Kurdistan, Sanandaj was selected as the venue for it. However, an official announcement by the United World Wrestling (UWW) is still awaited.

A memorandum of understanding will be signed soon with the participation of representatives of the Wrestling Federation and the Governor of Kurdistan, the Iran wrestling federation reported.
The first edition of the World Club Wrestling Cup was held in 2014. A total of 15 teams competed in the tournament. The cup was won by local Iranian club Bimeh-Razi who defeated Titan Mercury Wrestling Club of USA 6-2. Shoraye Shahr Karaj of Iran finished third after defeating China’s Wrestling Union 7-1.
