The World Deaf Wrestling Championships will be held in September this year. Originally scheduled to be held in February, the tournament was postponed and now will be organised in September in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic reported Iran Wrestling Federation. The exact date and venue, however, are yet to be officially announced.
The report added that the training camps for the national teams which were to be held in Turkey were also cancelled due to the pandemic.
Iran is amongst the worst-hit countries by the COVID-19 infection. The country is under complete lockdown since mid-March. It has reported over 82,000 positive cases with the death toll rising to over 5,000. More than 57,000 have recovered from deadly disease and gone back home.
