Sangram Singh launches “HaraoCorona, ChampionBanona 21”, which is a mentorship campaign for India’s youth. The outbreak of COVID-19 brings in a 21-day national lockdown in India starting March 24, 2020, internationally renowned Indian wrestler Sangram Singh and founder of Indian NGO Yuva Unstoppable, Amitabh Shah launch a countrywide mentorship campaign “HaraoCorona, ChampionBanona 21” to combat the impact of the pandemic on everyone, especially youth.

Yet another joint initiative between the two, the campaign aims to mentor children, young people and all others on some of the most pertinent issues like health and fitness, optimism, happiness, problem solving, and crisis preparedness. As a part thereof, health guru Sangram Singh will host online mentoring sessions every day, till the lockdown continues.

Sangram Singh kicked-off this campaign by mentoring four underprivileged students supported by Yuva Unstoppable’s Educational Scholarship Program.

Beginning of the mentorship programme
During his mentorship campaign with four underprivileged kids, Sangram teamed up with top corporate leaders like Sunish Sharma, Partner/Co-founder of Kedaara Capital Investment Managers Ltd. and Gaurav Gupta, Co-founder, Zomato during these sessions.

After coronavirus hit our nation and schools and colleges were shut down, thousands of students across the country were facing dire uncertainties and experiencing a certain loss of direction. But after virtually meeting and interacting with their mentors who are leaders in their respective fields, the students felt much more positive, confident, focussed, and hopeful.

Inspired by the success of these mentoring sessions, Sangram Singh spearheaded this campaign with Yuva Unstoppable to reach out to many more youngsters and people in need, and positively impact them in diverse ways during this crisis.

Helping students deal with suspended classes and closed institutes
Sangram Singh is already a motivational speaker and mentor to many, and when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown, he started thinking of ways to make the most of his self- quarantine and isolation.

“When I spoke to my friend Amitabh Shah and his wife Mrs Rashmi Shah, I realised that many students like their Scholarship awardees were facing a new and totally different situation amidst the suspended classes and an unprecedented health crisis. It was then that the idea about mentoring young students came to my mind,” shares the man behind the campaign, Sangram Singh.
Sangram feels that education is not the only thing that is important for a student. According to him, it is very important to stay fit and healthy in life always because, in a healthy body, dwells a healthy mind.

“Mentoring the young and ambitious scholars of Yuva Unstoppable was a rewarding experience and one of the most productive things I did during the Janta Curfew! I now look forward to mentor many more children and youth with the support of Yuva Unstoppable in times of this pandemic,” he said.

“Every time I meet Sangram Singh, he inspires me to stay fit, serve more, do better, and be happy. His videos on YouTube about health and fitness have transformed the lives of many. His mentorship sessions will not enable students, but all out there, young and old, to cope well with these difficult times. He’s truly a winner, both inside and outside the wrestling ring!” asserted Amitabh Shah, founder and Chief Inspiration Officer of Yuva Unstoppable.

What can students expect HaraoCorona, ChampionBanona 21?
Since the entire nation is on lockdown and social distancing is to be practiced, Sangram Singh will conduct online sessions on Facebook and Instagram, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM every day. The sessions started from today and will be conducted till the lockdown is over.

“The main objective of these sessions is to make the students understand that they shouldn’t panic when it comes to fighting off coronavirus. They need to build up their immunity through natural methods such as eating healthy and having regular workouts. I will be providing students with the tips of working out at home and cover various topics in each sessions,” said Sangram.
He said that each motivational session will have a different topic which will educate the students about the impacts of coronavirus. He also plans on getting special guests on his show after the first week of the lockdown is over so that students can get advice from exerts of different fields.

Earlier this year, the NGO forged an alliance with Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation to redevelop 1000 government schools in India through interventions in sanitation, health and hygiene, and digital literacy.
