Wrestling News: Sajan Bhanwal had created history in 2018 by becoming the first Indian to win back-to-back world championships. He won a silver medal at the 77kg Greco-Roman weight class at the Slovakia Junior worlds. The wrestler had an exponential rise in his career starting 2017 when he won his first junior Asian Championship bronze medal. From there was no looking back. With each year he has been improving and is now amongst the flag-bearers of classical style wrestling in India. But while the world was left awestruck with his performances, his parents never watched him compete live. “They have never watched me compete live. My father is very emotional so whenever he sees me on the mat he gets nervous. The same is for my mother. I show them my match videos when I am home,” he told WrestlingTV from Pratap School where he is currently training.
